***1999 Recorded as one of the biggest assists in U.S. history, Shannon drove a corner-kick for Joy Fawcett to head home for the winning goal in the Women's World Cup quarterfinal against Germany just seconds after entering the match.
***1999 Mac played in 26 games for the USA in 1999, scoring eight goals with 14 assists and became the 12th player in U.S. history with 20 or more career goals.
***1999 Shannon became known as the "Super-Sub" during the 1999 Women's World Cup, playing in all six matches, but started in just one, and in that game against North Korea she led the USA to victory with a goal and two assists.
***1996 In the Olympic Games of 1996, Shannon scored a critical goal in sudden-death overtime of the semifinal match against Norway, sending the USA into the final where she scored again in the 2-1 victory over China. Her "Golden Goal" against Norway was one of the most important in U.S. Soccer history, which put the USA into the Olympic final.
